Guantánamo and Beyond: A Blog on Executive Detention, National Security and Due ProcessGuantánamo and Beyond: A Blog on Executive
Detention, National Security and Due Process is the latest
project by the NYSBA’s Committee on Civil Rights on the detention,
treatment and trial of those detained at Guantánamo Bay and
elsewhere in the decade following the September 11 attacks and
Afghanistan invasion. The purpose of this blog is to provide
an easy reference for NYSBA members and the general public to access in
one location the ongoing and unprecedented constitutional dialogue
between the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches concerning the
most fundamental issues of national security, individual liberty and due
process. The blog will cover timely news and analysis concerning
the detention and trial of alleged terrorists apprehended and held by
the Executive and the continuously evolving legal and policy positions
surrounding these important
issues. Guantánamo and Beyond: A Blog on
Executive Detention, National Security and Due Process is authored
on a rotating basis by several Committee members and edited by Committee
Chair Fernando A. Bohorquez, Jr. (Partner, Baker
Hostetler) and Committee Secretary Patrick T. Campbell (Associate,
Baker Hostetler). For more information or questions about the
blog, please contact Mr. Bohorquez.
