New World of Real Estate Financing (2006)

This program will better prepare you to represent lenders and borrowers in the changing world of real estate transactions and will assist you in taking advantage of and/or avoiding the unwanted consequences of new developments in the real estate finance practice. The faculty explores issues relevant to the real estate finance arena that have arisen due to (i) recent events – new lending requirements since 9/11, (ii) new approaches and positions in document negotiation, (iii) new products (UCC insurance/title insurance products), (iv) new technology (MERS on the rise), and (v) new legislation (revised bankruptcy provisions) as well as our legal practice’s reaction thereto.  The faculty highlights how our “standard” practice is changing.

This program is intended for the attorney or real estate lender with some experience in the field, although the seminar briefly touches on basic concepts before the more advanced developments are featured.
