
9th Annual Celebrating Diversity in the Bar Reception

- Location - Join us from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. for this awards and networking reception held in collaboration with NYSBA committees and sections and minority and ethnic bar associations in New York. Please come promptly at 6:00 p.m. for the awards ceremony followed by the networking reception. During the celebration, the NYSBA Committee on Diversity will present the following Diversity Trailblazer awards: 2012 Changemaker Award Paul T. Williams, Jr., Esq. Paul T. Williams, Jr., is President of the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) and oversees the Authority's five operating divisions, offices in Albany, New York City and Buffalo and a workforce of over 550 employees. Mr. Williams was appointed to the Dormitory Authority in June 2008 and his tenure was renewed in December 2010 by then Governor-elect Andrew Cuomo. 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award Professor Jenny Rivera Jenny Rivera is a Professor of Law at the City University of New York School of Law in New York and the Founder and Director of the Law School's Center on Latino and Latina Rights and Equality (CLORE). CLORE promotes law reform scholarship, public education, and litigation in support of expanded civil rights, and focuses on issues impacting the Latino community in the United States. 2012 One-To-Watch Award Joseph M. Hanna Joseph Hanna is a partner of the firm Goldberg Segalla LLP in Buffalo, NY and concentrates his practice in commercial litigation with a focus on sports and entertainment law, construction litigation and intellectual property law. He is chair of the firms' diversity task force and is the president of the Minortiy Bar Association of Western New York, Inc.
