June M. Castellano

June M. Castellano of Rochester (Law Office of June Castellano) has
been elected to serve as vice-president for the Seventh District of the
Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA).
Castellano received her undergraduate degree from the University of
Rochester and earned her law degree from Northeastern University School
Castellano is in private practice, providing representation to
individuals facing family dissolution and conflict, and to individuals
and businesses in need of general legal assistance. Prior to starting
her own law firm, she worked at the Greater Upstate Law Project, a
not-for-profit public interest legal corporation, with a statewide focus
on legal issues affecting low-income individuals and families.
A 28-year member of the State Bar, Castellano has served as a member
of the House of Delegates for eight years. She is a member of the Family
Law Section, Special Committee on Court Structure and Judicial
Selection, and the Committee on Children and the Law. She previously
chaired the Committee on Women in the Law.
Castellano is past president of the Monroe County Bar Association and
the Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorneys, from which she
received its President’s Award. In 2004, Chief Judge Judith S.
Kaye appointed her as chairperson of the New York State Commission to
Examine Solo and Small Firm Practice, which issued a comprehensive
report in February 2006.
Castellano serves on the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Society
of Rochester and the A.C.T. Program. She also is a member of the Seventh
Judicial District Attorney Grievance Committee and the Monroe County
Family Court Planning Group.
