This program is designed for
experienced real property lawyers. Highly knowledgeable
practitioners present several current and sophisticated topics in the
area of advanced real estate practice. Following the very
successful and highly-rated format of earlier iterations of this program
since its inception in 1999, the topics have been varied and entirely
different from those presented at prior programs.
This program
includes selected topics in joint ventures, tax considerations involved
in real estate development, landlord-tenant issues, concerns of the
lender and borrower, problems inherent in interstate mergers and
acquisitions, anticipated and actual legislative changes in the mortgage
recording tax, and problems in New York City land use. In
addition, a Russian attorney with an LL.M. from Cornell Law School, now
employed by a New York firm in Moscow, discusses some of the problems
inherent in the acquisition of real property interests in
Russia.
