This program concerns the administrative hearing process before New
York State agencies, with an emphasis on the hearings before five
specific agencies. The program commences with a general introduction
about administrative hearings under the State Administrative Procedure
Act and then focuses on the proceedings before the New York State Tax
Appeals Tribunal, the New York State Public Service Commission, and the
Departments of: Motor Vehicles, Environmental Conservation, Health, and
the State Board for Professional Medical Conduct. The Administrative Law
Judges who conduct the hearings, or agency staff involved in the
administrative adjudication process, present the program. These
presenters focus on those aspects of the administrative proceedings
which are unique to each agency and provide insights which a
practitioner would be unable to find elsewhere.
