Jacqueline W. Silbermann
Chair, Committee on ADR and the Courts

Hon. Jacqueline Silbermann is chair of the Dispute Resolution Section’s Committee on ADR in the Courts. She is currently of counsel to Blank Rome LLP.

A 1972 cum laude graduate of Fordham University School of Law, Silbermann was elected to the Civil Court of the City of New Yorkin 1983. She was appointed supervising judge of the Civil Courtin 1986 and later appointed administrative judge for the City of New York Civil Court. She became an Administrative Judge for Matrimonial Matters in 1997. In 2006, she was appointed Deputy Chief Administrative Judge for Matrimonial Matters where she served until December 2008.

Silbermann serves on the board of Fordham University School of Law, the New York State Woman’s Bar Association and the New York State Association of Women Judges. She is a past president of Judges and Lawyers Breast Cancer Alert; and is a member of the State Bar’s Family Law and Judicial sections.  She received the 2007 Ruth G. Schapiro Award from the State Bar’s Committee on Women in the Law.
