This website presents a preK-12 civics education scope and sequence for New York State teachers, supervisors, and curriculum developers including the following components:
• Concepts
• Content understandings
• Learning objectives
• Knowledge goals
• Learning skills
• Civic dispositions
It is correlated to the national and state civic standards for social studies and English language arts. This scope and sequence also includes student learning activities along with student and teacher resources and websites.  It highlights civics content and activities adapted from the New York State Social Studies Resource Guide with Core Curriculum,  Social Studies Instructional Strategies and Resources, PreK-6 (New York State Education Department, 2003), Participation in Government (New York State Education Department, 2002), and Education for Democracy:  California Civic Education Scope and Sequence (2003).

The site is the work of Dr. George Gregory, and was commissioned by the New York State Civic Mission of Schools and the Law, Youth and Citizenship Program of the New York State Bar Association.
