STATE BAR MARKS GLOBAL LAW WEEK WITH LEADING
INTERNATIONAL LEGAL EXPERTS
Topics include universal bankruptcy regime,
protecting clients in international litigation, International Criminal
Court, cross-border tax perils
To commemorate Global Law Week, the International
Section of the State Bar Association announces a program for Tuesday,
May 10 through Friday, May 13 featuring 22 panel discussions on specific
issues of international practice.
The program, at various venues throughout Manhattan, is hosted and
sponsored by law firms and other legal institutions. The panelists
represent prominent law firms and corporations worldwide, including from
Belgium, Brazil, China, the Czech Republic, England, Germany,
Luxembourg, Mexico, Russia, Sweden, and the United States, as well as
experts from the judiciary, academia, and government.
Timely panel topics include:
• The Framework of International Legal Practice
• Toward a Universal Bankruptcy Regime
• Ten Cross-Border Tax Perils for U.S. Taxpayers: Foreign
Property, Trusts and Companies
• Protecting Your Clients in International Litigation
• The International Criminal Court: Current Challenges and
Perspectives
Panels are designed primarily for experienced practitioners. Most
panels carry 1.5 CLE credits. Registration and CLE credits for each
