NEW YORK STATE BAR ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES NEW
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS
ALBANY—The New York State Bar Association today announced the
new members of its Executive Committee, who took office on June 1. The
27-member Executive Committee oversees the management and administration
of the State Bar within policies determined by its governing body, the
House of Delegates.
Vincent E. Doyle, III of Buffalo (Connors &
Vilardo LLP), President-Elect. A graduate of Canisius
College and the University at Buffalo Law School, Doyle is a partner at
Connors & Vilardo LLP. He is a trial and appellate attorney whose
practice includes civil and white collar criminal litigation, and
representation of professionals in disciplinary proceedings, as well as
advising on legal ethics matters. He previously chaired the State
Bar’s Criminal Justice Section and was a member-at-large of the
Executive Committee.
David P. Miranda of Albany (Heslin Rothenberg Farley
& Mesiti P.C.), Secretary. A graduate of the State
University of New York at Buffalo and Albany Law School, Miranda is the
immediate past president of the Albany County Bar Association. He is a
partner at Heslin Rothenberg Farley & Mesiti P.C., concentrating his
practice in intellectual property law, including trademark, copyright,
trade secret, false advertising, and patent infringement, as well as
licensing, and Internet-related issues. He previously chaired the State
Bar’s Young Lawyers Section and was a member-at-large of the
Executive Committee.
Ann B. Lesk of New York (Fried, Frank, Harris,
Shriver & Jacobson LLP), Vice-President of the 1st Judicial
District. A graduate of Radcliffe College and Rutgers School of
Law, Lesk is the immediate past president of the New York County
Lawyers’ Association. She is a partner at Fried Frank and is head
of the firm’s Trusts and Estates Department of the New York
office. She advises high-net-worth individuals and families concerning
sophisticated estate and gift tax planning strategies, international tax
planning issues, estate and trust administration and related
matters.
Manuel A. Romero of Brooklyn (Manuel A. Romero,
P.C.), Vice-President of the 2nd Judicial District. A
graduate of Fordham University and New York Law School, Romero is past
president of the Brooklyn Bar Association. He is the principal and
senior trial attorney in his own law firm, Manuel A. Romero, P.C., where
he has concentrated on plaintiffs' personal injury cases, from inception
to trial.
Lillian M. Moy of Albany (executive director, Legal
Aid Society of Northeastern New York, Inc.), Vice-President of
the 3rd Judicial District. A graduate of Hunter College of the
City University of New York and Boston University School of Law, Moy is
the executive director of the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New
York, Inc.
Thomas E. Myers of Syracuse (Bond, Schoeneck &
King, PLLC), Vice-President of the 5th Judicial
District. A graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and
Cornell Law School, Myers is a past president of the Onondaga County Bar
Association. He is a partner at Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC, with
more than 30 years experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in
state and federal court litigation involving business dissolutions,
commercial disputes, employment disputes, errors and omissions, health
care, insurance, personal injury, products liability, professional
discipline, shareholder rights, and director liability.
Mark S. Gorgos of Binghamton (Coughlin &
Gerhart, LLP), Vice-President of the 6th Judicial
District. A graduate of Union College and Albany Law School,
Gorgos is a past president of the Broome County Bar Association. He is
the managing partner at Coughlin & Gerhart, LLP, concentrating his
practice in commercial law, municipal and education law, public sector
labor law, and creditor bankruptcy matters.
June M. Castellano of Rochester (Law Office of June
Castellano), Vice-President of the 7th Judicial
District. A graduate of the University of Rochester and
Northeastern University School of Law, Castellano is a past president of
the Monroe County Bar Association and the Greater Rochester Association
for Women Attorneys. She is in private practice providing representation
to individuals facing family dissolution and conflict, and to
individuals and businesses in need of general legal assistance.
David L. Edmunds Jr. of Buffalo (Phillips Lytle
LLP), Vice-President of the 8th Judicial District. A
graduate of the University of Rochester and Case Western Reserve
University School of Law, Edmunds is a past president of the Bar
Association of Erie County and the Minority Bar Association of Western
New York.
Emily F. Franchina of Garden City (Franchina &
Giordano, P.C.), Vice-President of the 10th Judicial
District. A graduate of Long Island University, C.W. Post
Center, and Hofstra University School of Law, Franchina is the immediate
past president of the Nassau County Bar Association. She is a founding
partner at the firm, Franchina & Giordano, P.C., concentrating her
practice in elder law, wills, trusts, estate planning, and estate
administration. She previously chaired the State Bar’s Young
Lawyers Section.
Steven E. Millon of East Meadow (Law Office of
Steven E. Millon), Vice-President of the 12th Judicial
District. A graduate of the State University of New York at
Stony Brook and Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of
Law, Millon concentrates his practice in all types of
negligence/personal injury cases, including aviation disasters, medical
malpractice, products liability, automobile accidents, and trip/slip and
fall accidents. He previously chaired the State Bar’s Young
Lawyers Section.
Samuel F. Abernethy of New York (Menaker &
Herrmann LLP), Member-at-Large. A graduate of Princeton
University and Fordham Law School, Abernethy represents companies and
individuals in the commercial arena, with a concentration in
commodities, derivatives, and securities matters. He previously chaired
the State Bar’s Business Law Section and currently chairs the
Special Committee on Standards for Pleading in Federal Litigation.
Hon. Margaret J. Finerty of New York (Getnick &
Getnick), Member-at-Large. A graduate of the University
of Chicago and Cornell Law School, Finerty is a partner at Getnick &
Getnick. She served as a judge of the Criminal Court of the City of New
York from 1995-1998, having been appointed by Mayor Rudolph W.
Giuliani.
Sherry Levin Wallach of Mount Kisco (Wallach and
Rendo LLP), Member-at-Large. A graduate of George
Washington University and Hofstra Law School, Wallach is a principal and
partner at Wallach and Rendo LLP, concentrating her practice in criminal
defense in state and federal courts throughout New York, Bronx,
Westchester, Putnam and Rockland Counties. She previously chaired the
State Bar’s Young Lawyers Section.

the official statewide organization of lawyers in New York and the
largest voluntary state bar association in the nation. The State
