PUBLIC SERVICE AWARDS
Annual award honors the contributions of New
York’s public service attorneys
ALBANY—The New York State Bar Association is
seeking nominees for the 2011 Award for Excellence in Public Service.
Sponsored by the Committee on Attorneys in Public Service, the award
recognizes excellence by a member of the legal profession in the
commitment to, and performance of, public service. The award will be
presented during the State Bar’s Annual Meeting on Tuesday,
January 25, 2010.
“Each day, hundreds of public service attorneys make a
difference in the lives of New Yorkers, contributing to the betterment
of public safety and welfare, often in an understated, but steadfast
manner. Through presenting the prestigious Excellence in Public Service
Award, we honor their unsung contributions and excellent efforts to
improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods and communities,”
said Hon. Peter S. Loomis of Albany (New York State Department of
Transportation), chair of the Committee on Attorneys in Public
Service.
Individuals receiving the award must epitomize a commitment to the
highest and noblest calling afforded by the legal profession: to
preserve and protect the public. Their efforts must demonstrate a
commitment to service, honor and integrity.
The deadline for nominations is October 1, 2010. Nominations should
be directed to Patricia K. Wood, CAE, Senior Director, Membership
