STATEMENT FROM NEW YORK STATE BAR ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT MICHAEL E. GETNICK

Judge Sotomayor Confirmation to the United States Supreme Court

New York State Bar Association President Michael E. Getnick (Getnick, Livingston, Atkinson & Priore, LLP of Utica and of counsel to Getnick & Getnick of New York City) issued the following statement regarding today’s U.S. Senate confirmation of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the United States Supreme Court:

"We applaud the Senate for confirming native New Yorker Judge Sonia Sotomayor to be the next Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court. Her life story is an inspiration for all Americans and her long record as a fair and impartial jurist leaves no doubt that she will be a tremendous addition to the Court."
