NOMINEES SOUGHT FOR 2009 EXCELLENCE IN PUBLIC SERVICE AWARD

Annual Award Honors New York’s Public Service Attorneys

The New York State Bar Association is seeking nominees for the 2009 Award for Excellence in Public Service. Sponsored by the Committee on Attorneys in Public Service, the award recognizes excellence by a member of the legal profession in the commitment to, and performance of, public service. The award will be presented during the Association’s Annual Meeting on Tuesday, January 27, 2009.

“Public service attorneys play an invaluable role in our society by improving the greater good, but their work often goes unrecognized,” said Committee Chair Prof. Patricia E. Salkin of Albany(Director, Government Law Center of Albany Law School). “It is a privilege to honor those committed to working in the best interest of the public.”

Individuals must epitomize a commitment to the highest and noblest calling afforded by the legal profession, to preserve and protect the public. Their efforts must demonstrate a commitment to service, honor and integrity.
