Syracuse Attorney Elected Vice President of Executive Committee of New York State Bar Association

Syracuse attorney David M. Hayes (Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC) has been elected to the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association. He will serve as a vice president representing the Fifth Judicial District.

The 26-member Executive Committee oversees the management and administration of the Association within policies determined by its governing body, the House of Delegates.

Hayes is of counsel to the firm concentrating in business law, including agricultural cooperatives, antitrust, corporate governance, finance, insurance, securities and strategic planning.

Hayes earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia Law School. He received a B.A. from Syracuse University, where he is now an adjunct professor of law at the College of Law. He also is a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse.

Hayes serves as director and treasurer of the Legal Services of Central New York, Inc. and the Legal Aid Society of Mid-New York, Inc. He is director of the Onondaga County Bar Foundation, Inc.

Active in the Association, Hayes is a member of the Antitrust Section Executive Committee and a former member of the Corporate Counsel Section’s Executive Committee. He is a former member of the Nominating Committee and a member of the Special Committee on Sarbanes-Oxley Issues. He is chair of the Fifth District Fellows of the New York Bar Foundation and is a frequent seminar presenter.

Hayes is a past president of the Onondaga County Bar Association, and a past president and honorary director of the Boys and Girls Club of Syracuse.

Hayes is director of the Syracuse St. Patrick’s Parade Association and parade announcer.
