Quest for a Balanced Life (2005)

This recording of a special, well-received program at the Association’s 2005 Annual Meeting focuses on the following factors as they affect satisfaction and dissatisfaction among members of the legal profession:

            · Flexible work arrangements for both associates and partners, including issues related to the so-called “Mommy Track,” and part-time partnership arrangements—the effects of changing demographics the profession.

            · Stress management and time management—vital survival skills for busy attorneys hoping to maintain their sanity and a life outside of the office.

            · Saving Grace: promoting civility—both inside and outside of the law firm; the courts and throughout the justice system.

            · Lawyer bashing vs. the Atticus Finch image—dealing with the public’s perception of the profession, on a personal level.

            · Technological developments—Q: a blessing or a curse? A: yes.

            · How to live largely in the law and not be a narrow practitioner.
