About the Presenter

David Paul Horowitz, Esq. has litigated in New York courts for over twenty-two years as a plaintiff's personal injury attorney.  He is “of counsel” to Ressler & Ressler in New York City and specializes in complex tort claims, including products liability, legal and medical malpractice, and construction litigation, as well as general negligence cases, and has been selected annually since 2007 for inclusion in the New York Super Lawyers listing.

He teaches New York Practice at Brooklyn Law School and Evidence at St. John’s Law School and, effective May 1, 2010 he is the sole author of the nine volume treatise Bender’s New York Evidence.  He is also the author of the New York Civil Disclosure, revised and reissued annually since 2004, the 2008 and forthcoming 2010 Supplement to Fisch on New York Evidence, and, since 2007 the annual Surveys in Evidence and Disclosure for the Syracuse Law Review.  He pens the monthly column, “Burden of Proof,” on disclosure and evidence, for the New York State Bar Journal

Mr. Horowitz is a member of the Office of Court Administration’s CPLR Advisory Committee, the New York State Bar Associations CPLR Committee, and the LexisNexis New York Practice Advisory Board.

In addition to programs in civil practice, evidence, disclosure, and settlements at the New York State Judicial Institute, he lectures statewide on these and other topics on behalf of numerous bar associations and at law firms and legal departments.

He is a founding Dean of CLE at the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers.
