MCLE
Continuing the Discussion--Faster, Cheaper and Smarter
Litigation Practices
Views from the Bench in Upstate New York
Commercial Division Justices Karalunas (Onondaga), Rosenbaum (7th
Judicial District) and Michalek (8th Judicial District) join with
Magistrate Judges Peebles (Northern District of New York), Payson and
McCarthy (Western District of New York) for a panel discussion about
streamlining civil actions. The discussion will focus on how the
litigants and the courts can work together to maximize efficiency and
reduce the costs of litigation, specifically in discovery (including
electronic discovery), settlement and motion practice.
This program will be presented live in the Onondaga, Monroe and Erie
County Courthouses and each location will be connected by
videoconference, providing a unique opportunity to learn best practices
from six judges in two federal districts and three judicial districts. A
one hour reception in each location will follow the moderated two hour
panel discussion. The content is approved for new and experienced
attorneys but the videoconference format accreditation for new attorneys
is pending for 2 MCLE professional practice credits.
RSVP Information:
For security purposes you must RSVP to attend one location and no one
will be admitted to the courthouses after 4:30 p.m.
Please advise if you are attending the CLE only (3:30-5:30 pm.) or
