 Hon. Anne W. Murphy, ALJ

Anne W. Murphy serves as an Administrative Law Judge with the New York City Tax Appeals Tribunal, Office of Administrative Tax Appeals (OATA).  Judge Murphy hears cases invoving City business and real property taxes, as well as City Tax Commission assessment review.  Prior to her City service, Judge Murphy was Assistant Counsel to the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, representing the State in administrative proceedings and principally responsible for high value cases involving the State Corporation Franchise Tax and the State Sales Tax.  She is a graduate of Manhattanville College and Fordham University School of Law and was admitted to the Bar of New York State in 1981.  Judge Murphy is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association (where she is a member of the Committee on Attorneys in Public Service and the Tax Section), and the New York County Lawyers Association.  A Past President of the New York State Administrative Law Judge Association, she has served on the NYSALAJA Executive Committee and is presently NYSALAJA Treasurer.
