STATED PURPOSE

COMMITTEE ON LEGAL EDUCATION AND ADMISSION TO THE BAR

Formed: June 1, 1952

The Committee on Legal Education and Admission to the Bar is charged with the duty of studying the various aspects of and developments in legal education and admission to the bar, in the maintenance of adequate standards of legal education and in the prevention of admission to the bar of unworthy candidates.

The ABA Commission on Mental and Physical Disability Law recently released a brand new free directory for bar applicants with disabilities that offers information on what each state bar requires in terms of requesting accommodations and the questions asked for character and fitness (as they relate to disabilities).  The directory also has a listing of applicable state laws and cases that are relevant to these two issues.  Visit http://ambar/biad
