Dear Section Members:

Welcome to the webpage for the Diversity Committee of the Torts, Insurance and Compensation Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.  We believe that ensuring diversity within TICL, and the NYSBA overall, is extremely important for providing the balance and objectivity that is necessary for the practice of law.

Our goal for this Committee is to continue to encourage participation and involvement of the TICL Section in activities and programs that offer different and interesting perspectives from and for minority members and non-members of TICL and the NYSBA.  We also intend to ensure that membership of TICL continues to increase, while accurately reflecting the diverse composition of practitioners in TICL and the NYSBA.

On this webpage you will find the most recent NYSBA Diversity Report Card.  In addition, we intend to update the page with news, articles and events that may be of interest to members.  TICL has consistently offered informative and instructive CLE programs that we believe are unmatched in both quality and the range of topics.

If you are aware of attorneys who practice in torts, insurance or compensation law, but are not members, please urge them join the New York State Bar Association and TICL.  We also welcome you to join the Committee.  As a member of TICL, there is no additional fee to join this Committee.  For students and non-members interested in attending a TICL sponsored program, we have a limited number of scholarships available which offer one-time free membership in TICL (a $40 savings).  If you are interested in receiving a scholarship, or would like further information about the Committee or its activities, please contact us at: JYoung@cmk.com or Mirnamar@gmail.com
