Ethics
Co-sponsored by the
Corporate Counsel Section and the
Committee on Continuing Legal Education of the New York State Bar
Association.
Program Description
The Corporate Counsel Section of the New York State Bar Association
announces its Third Corporate Counsel Institute. The Institute,
designed as a comprehensive two-day program, covering a multitude of
topics of particular interest to corporate counsel, will be combined
with the Section’s popular annual Ethics for Corporate Counsel
program.
Day One will be devoted to five separate plenary sessions. The
electronic age, employment law developments, bankruptcy pitfalls and
intellectual property sessions are scheduled on the first
day. Lunch will feature Keynote Speaker Marshall Huebner,
lead counsel to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and to the United
States Department of the Treasury with respect to their $150 billion
multiple financing and 79.9% equity stake in the American International
Group.
Day Two will begin with Ethics for Corporate Counsel, a well-received
and engaging program designed especially for Corporate Counsel.
After lunch, various workshops will assist Corporate Counsel with such
important practice areas as employee privacy, commercial leasing,
responding to the government, and law department management.
A premier faculty has been assembled by the Planning Committee to
present a program geared to assisting Corporate Counsel in navigating
these challenging times. Each topic could be a program on its own, but
by attending the Corporate Counsel Institute, the busy in-house attorney
will gain important insights and knowledge into many of these topics to
support their everyday practices.
