9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (both days)

16.0 MCLE Credits

(7.0 areas of professional practice, 6.0 skills, 3.0 ethics)

This two-day, bridge-the-gap program is geared towards newly admitted attorneys and experienced practitioners seeking to sharpen their skills as commercial litigators and trial lawyers.

Due to an overwhelming response, the New York City program has sold out, however, an overflow room has just been added!  Additional registrants will be accommodated in the overflow room and will participate in the program via live interactive video conference.  This video conference is approved for MCLE credit for attorneys, including those newly admitted!

The Commercial and Federal Litigation Section of the New York State Bar Association is pleased to present this first ever Commercial Litigation Academy, bringing together an extraordinary panel of distinguished and well-known commercial litigators and judges who will take you through federal and state commercial litigation practice.  You will receive training and skills necessary for handling all aspects of a commercial litigation in New York state and federal courts, from the commencement of the case, through discovery and motion practice, to the trial and appeal process.  The topics will include venue decisions, pleadings, injunctive relief, discovery and disclosure, including e-discovery, expert discovery, arguing your first motion, trials and appeals. Ethical and evidentiary problems encountered by the civil trial attorney will also be addressed.

You can’t afford to miss this opportunity to learn the in’s and out’s of commercial litigation practice in both New York state and federal courts from the leading experts in the field!

This course provides newly admitted attorneys with one full year of required transitional MCLE credits.  The two-day program carries 16.0 MCLE credits (7.0 areas of professional practice, 6.0 skills and 3.0 ethics).
