This timely, half-day course focuses on key elements of successfully
handling appeals in the Second Circuit. Designed as a refresher and
update for both the experienced federal practitioner and the general
litigator who may only occasionally appear in the Second Circuit, the
program faculty features Second Circuit Judges and experienced appellate
practitioners. The program will provide insight into the inner workings
of the Court and will emphasize practical tips designed to enhance the
quality of appellate advocacy for both civil and criminal appeals in the
Second Circuit. The faculty will offer their insight on what they see as
current and upcoming issues to be handled by the Court.
Of special note is the inclusion in the
program of a special “Questions and Answers” segment for the
judges on the faculty. Registrants may submit questions for the
judges in advance of the program by emailing them to: appcourts@nysba.org. As time
