Special Guest Mark Lundholm
Mark is a
comedian in recovery who will help us better understand the serious
illness of addiction through humor. Attorneys suffer from alcoholism and depression at a rate
twice that of the general population. Prevention and early intervention
are vital to dealing with this widespread crisis in the legal
profession. The program will address the importance of understanding the
signs and symptoms of the problems as well as the stress that can
increase the risks. Whether it is a problem you recognize in yourself or
in a colleague, intervening is critical and doing nothing is not an
option. Identifying effective strategies for confronting the problems
will minimize the damage that addiction and mental health issues can
cause. We must work together to de-stigmatize calls for help so that we
can protect families and careers in law firms, the legal profession, and
our society.
