As attorneys we have all sat
through semester long contract courses in law school learning the legal
theory behind contractual agreements. In this mini-refresher
course, Vincent R. Martorana bridges the gap between law school theory
and legal practice by reviewing some of the fundamental concepts in
contract drafting which many attorneys fail to consider. Areas
covered include: Preliminary Matters; the Framework of a Contract,
including preamble, recitals and lead-in; the Body of a Contract,
including definitions, language of performance, obligations and
prohibitions, discretionary language, language of declaration, and
acknowledgements; Language of Policy; and Signature Pages. The
course includes written materials in easy to use electronic PDF format
which can be downloaded to your computer for easy reference.
