DESCRIPTION:
Attorneys suffer from
alcoholism and depression twice that of the general
population. Prevention and early intervention are vital to
dealing with this widespread crisis in the legal profession. The
importance of understanding the signs and symptoms of the problems as
well as addressing the stress that can increase the risks will be
emphasized in this program. Whether it is a problem you recognize
in yourself or in a colleague, intervening is critical and doing nothing
is not an option. Identifying effective strategies for confronting
the problems will minimize the damage that addiction and mental health
issues can cause. We must work together to de-stigmatize asking
for help and save lives and careers.
