DescriptionLicensing music for film and television has long been a
complicated and fragmented process, often requiring multiple copyright
licenses from record labels, music publishers, and performing rights
organizations. Advancements in digital device and distribution
technologies have engendered additional complexity, simultaneously
creating new opportunities and challenges -- not only for creators and
copyright owners, but also for those who counsel them. This panel will
examine emerging digital business models and related issues -- from the
creative, business and legal perspectives.
