Timothy J. Fennell
Member-at-Large

Timothy J. Fennell of Baldwinsville (Amdursky Pelky Fennell & Wallen PC) has been elected to serve as Member-at-Large of the Association’s Executive Committee.

Fennell received his undergraduate degree from LeMoyne College, and his law degree from Albany Law School of Union University.

Fennell joined his law firm in 1983, was named partner in 1987, and currently serves as the firm’s managing partner. He concentrates his practice in both civil and criminal law, with emphasis on litigation and defense, trusts and estates, matrimonial law and real estate. He is Counsel to the Port of Oswego Authority and represents many health care providers, including the Oswego Hospital and A.L. Lee Hospital malpractice litigation.

Elected to the Association’s Executive Committee for a second time, Fennell serves on the Executive Committee of the Real Property Law Section and the Food, Drug & Cosmetic Law Section. He is a member of the Trial Lawyers Section; the Torts, Insurance and Compensation Law Section; the Lawyer Referral & Information Service; the Special Committee on Legal Specialization; and the Committee on Lawyer Referral Service, which he chaired from 1998 through 2004. He previously served on the Nominating Committee, the NYSCBL Executive Council and the Special Committee on Solo and Small Firm Practice.

In addition to his Association activities, Fennell is a member of the American Bar Association and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. He is a member and past President of the Oswego County Bar Association.

The 26-member Executive Committee has the authority to act and speak for the NYSBA, consistent with previous action of the House of Delegates, when the House is not in session. The Executive Committee meets quarterly and at other times as necessary. The Executive Committee is composed of the President, President-Elect, Treasurer, and Secretary of the Association. In addition, there are vice-presidents from each of the twelve judicial districts (the 1st district has two Vice-presidents) in the state and eight members-at-large. The immediate past president is also a member of this body. All officers are elected to serve one-year terms.

The 74,000 member New York State Bar Association is the official statewide organization of lawyers in New York and the largest voluntary state bar association in the nation. Founded in 1876, NYSBA programs and activities have continuously served the public and improved the justice system for more than 130 years.
