
Manuel A. Romero
Vice-President, 2nd District
Manuel A. Romero of Brooklyn (Manuel A. Romero, P.C.,) has been
elected to serve as vice-president for the Second District of the
Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA).
Romero received his undergraduate degree from Fordham University and
earned his law degree from New York Law School.
Romero is the principal and senior trial attorney in his own law
firm, Manuel A. Romero, P.C., where he has concentrated on plaintiffs'
personal injury cases, from inception to trial. He currently serves as
the chairman of the New York State Grievance Committee for the 2nd, 11th
and 13th Judicial Districts. The committee handles attorney discipline
in Kings, Queens and Richmond Counties.
Active in the State Bar for 26 years, Romero has been a member of the
House of Delegates since 2002. He is a member of the Trial Lawyers
Section and its Executive Committee; the Torts, Insurance and
Compensation Law Section; the Committee on Minorities in the Profession,
the Committee on and Diversity and Leadership Development, and the
Committee to Review Judicial Nominations. He is a fellow of the New York
Bar Foundation.
Romero is a past president of the Brooklyn Bar Association and was
its first Latino president. He was appointed by former Chief Judge of
the State of New York Judith S. Kaye to the 2nd District Independent
Judicial Election Qualification Commission in 2007. Romero also is a
member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, the Puerto Rican Bar
Association, as well as a director of the New York State Trial Lawyers
Association.
