What You Need to Know about Participating in the Lawyer Referral Service


The New York State Bar Association Committee on Lawyers in Transition is continuing its series of free, live Career Development webcasts to help lawyers better manage their careers during this tough economy.

What You Need to Know about Participating in the Lawyer Referral Service will be presented on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

Panelists will provide an overview of the Lawyer Referral Service and information you need to know about participating.  Panelists will also cover requirements including

  • Rules to paricipate as an attorney (ie, office, bar admission, practice areas, years of exp, application, number of assignments/year, reporting, renewing)
  • Rules to get services as a client/who is entitled
  • Logistcs - time management, overhead costs, getting additional attorneys
  • Challenges
  • Benefits to participating
