Given annually to honor the memory of Lewis A. Friedman who exemplified the general practitioner as a litigator and judge. This award is also to recognize a New York attorney who is outstanding and innovative, has made significant contributions to improve the daily practice of law and who voluntarily participates in NYSBA activities.
