Discussions About the Nomination Process in Connection with the Seat

Under the Constitution of the State of New York, the

practice in New York State for at least 10 years.
As part of the Commission’s process of identifying
and nominating potential successors to Associate Judge Theodore T. Jones
following his untimely passing, the Commission will conduct an
informational meeting to discuss the requirements for the position and
the Commission’s procedures and rules for submitting

Chair of the Commission on Judicial Nomination, will host the meeting,
and will conduct what is sure to be a fascinating conversation with
former Associate Judge George Bundy Smith. Judges Kaye and Bundy Smith
will discuss, among other things, Judge Jones’s career and his
legacy on the Court.

speakers include: Alphonso B. David, Governor Cuomo’s Deputy
Secretary for Civil Rights; Glenn Lau-Kee, Incoming President-Elect, New
