MARRIAGE EQUALITY ACT

On June 24, 2011, the Legislature passed and the Governor signed into law the Marriage Equality Act, which grants same-sex couples the right to marry in New York State.  Below you will find links to Chapter 95 of the Laws of 2011 (the principle legislation granting the right to marry) and Chapter 96 of the Laws of 2011 (legislation that includes certain provisions related to religious exemptions related to the right to marry).
