Harriette M. Steinberg

Dispute Resolution Section
Committee on Collaborative Law
Co-Chair

Harriette M.

Steinberg

HARRIETTE M. STEINBERG received her Juris Doctor degree from Hofstra University in 1981 and has been admitted to practice before the U. S Supreme Court, Courts of the State of New York, U.S. Tax Court, U.S. District Court for the Eastem and Southern districts of New York. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association; New York State Woman's Bar Association; Nassau County Bar Association; the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys; and Nassau County Woman's Bar Association. She is a past Director of the Nassau County Bar Association, where she chaired the Elder Law, Social Services, and Health Advocacy Committee for the 1992 and 1993 terms and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee for 1999 and 2000 terms. Harriette has also served as chair of the General Practice Section of the New York State Bar Association (2007/2008 term).

Over the past thirty years, her professional experience has covered a range of legal areas from Family Law to Elder Law, to the Trust and Estate arena. In addition to traditional legal services, her clients benefit from her unique perspective that blends training and experience with skill and empathy. She is privileged to enjoy lasting relationships with many clients, their extended families and friends. About halfway through her career, she learned about - and quickly recognized the value of - alternative dispute resolution alternatives. Today, thanks to hundreds of hours of additional training and practice, she is fully committed to a non-litigational approach to dispute resolution, with Mediation and Collaborative Practice being her 'dispute resolution processes of choice.'
