INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW SECTION TO CELEBRATE 20th
ANNIVERSARY WITH FALL MEETING, GALA IN NEW YORK CITY
There is still time to register for both
events
The Intellectual Property Law Section will celebrate its
20th anniversary September 14-15 with a full program of MCLE events and
a special gala dinner in New York City.
The celebration will be held during the section’s annual Fall
Meeting, which is taking place Friday and Saturday, September 14 and 15,
at The Hilton in Manhattan. The celebration includes a 20th anniversary
gala on Friday evening from 6-10 p.m. at Gotham Hall.
The Intellectual Property Law Section was founded in 1992 by combining
the Special Committee on Patents and Trademarks and the Special
Committee on Copyright Law. The first chairman was New York City
attorney Rory Radding (Edwards Wildman Palmer). The section, which now
boasts more than 2,000 members, is currently chaired by Kelly M. Slavitt
of Irvington (North America & Food at the Reckitt Benckiser).
Among the topics to be discussed at the Fall Meeting are the State of
the Intellectual Property World; Initiatives to Address Trademark
Bullying; Litigation Ethics – Conduct and Misconduct; What You
Need to Know About TLDS; and Cross-Border IP Enforcement. Those
attending will be eligible for up to 9.5 MCLE credits for experienced
attorneys, including 8.5 hours in professional practice and 1 hour in
ethics.
Those wishing to attend the Fall Meeting are encouraged to pre-register
online. The cost, which includes course materials and lunch on Saturday,
is $300 for section members and $400 for non-members. For information,

Registrations for the 20th anniversary gala are being accepted through
Friday, September 7. The cost of the gala is $150 for section members
