Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman’s Mortgage
Foreclosure Filing Requirement
New York State Bar Association President Stephen P. Younger of New
York (Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP) today issued the following
statement in response to Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman’s attorney
filing requirement in residential foreclosure cases:
“The Chief Judge has taken swift steps to address a
nationwide problem in foreclosure actions. The New York State Bar
Association applauds any effort to preserve and maintain the integrity
of the foreclosure process. In order to inform and educate our members
