STATEMENT FROM NYS BAR ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT KATHRYN
GRANT MADIGAN ON JUDICIAL PAY INCREASE
"A pay raise for judges
is the right thing to do. After nine
years without an increase, they have earned a raise and they should not
have to wait any longer to get it. The
State Bar Association is one of many organizations that have called on
the Legislature to act and we applaud the Senate for taking this
important step forward."
The 72,000-member New
York State Bar Association is the official statewide organization of
lawyers in New
Yorkand the largest
voluntary state bar association in the nation. Founded in 1876, NYSBA programs and activities have
continuously served the public and improved the justice system for more
than 130 years.
