STATE BAR ASSOCIATION SEEKS NOMINATIONS FOR 2008
AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN PUBLIC SERVICE
The New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Attorneys in
Public Service is seeking nominees for its Award for Excellence in
Public Service, which is presented annually to individuals who
demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to serving the public.
"The significant contributions made by attorneys who dedicate their
lives to public service too often go unnoticed," Albany Law School
Professor and Committee Chair Patricia E. Salkin said. "The Committee on
Attorneys in Public Service seeks to recognize and publicly thank those
who have demonstrated the highest standards in a public or government
service. I look forward to sharing in the recognition of the
2008 honorees."
All lawyers active in government service or related public service
are eligible for nomination. Recommendations should be based on
outstanding commitment to and performance of public service, and may
recognize individual attorneys or the collective work of attorneys in an
office over the past year or over the course of a career. The award will
be presented on January 29, 2008, at the New York Stat Bar
Association’s Annual Meeting in New York City.
Nominations should be sent to Patricia K. Wood, Staff Liaison, NYSBA
Committee on Attorneys in Public Service at One Elk Street, Albany, NY
12207. Recommendations can also be emailed to caps@nysba.org, or faxed to
518-487-5579. All nominations must be received no later than Friday,
