TERESA SCHILLER APPOINTED ASSOCIATE EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR
OF NEW YORK STATE BAR ASSOCIATION
Teresa Schiller of Rensselaer has been named Associate Executive
Director of the New York State Bar Association.
Schiller, who assumed her new post on June 1, most recently served as
an Executive Services Counsel at the State Bar. She joined the
Association in 2010 as Director of Law Practice Management.
“Teresa Schiller will have significant responsibilities for the
day-to-day management of the State Bar Association. She possesses
extensive practical experience, legal acumen and organizational
expertise. We are delighted that she has agreed to take on this
important new role,” said Patricia K. Bucklin, Executive Director
of the State Bar Association.
Schiller previously worked for 11 years at the law firm of Clifford
Chance US LLP in its New York City office. She oversaw the
firm’s pro bono program and was a litigation associate. She also
had clerkships with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and
the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
A graduate of Rice University and the University of Chicago Law School,
Schiller formerly served as president of the New York Women’s Bar
Association (2006-07) and as vice-president of the Women’s Bar
Association of the State of New York (2008-10).
The 77,000-member New York State Bar Association is the largest
voluntary state bar association in the nation. It was founded in
1876.
