Product Description

Truck accidents are common occurrences in today’s hectic streets and interstate highways. A truck accident case is complex, from both an investigation and litigation perspective. Regional and national carriers involved in truck litigation face substantial damage claims. Several different types of claims may arise including claims of negligence in the areas of driver hiring, qualification and training, claims by co-drivers and/or unauthorized passengers and negligence claims in the areas of vehicle maintenance.

The Torts, Insurance and Compensation Law Section and the Committee on Continuing Legal Education of the New York State Bar Association are pleased to present “Update on Trucking Litigation and Claims.” This one-day seminar is designed for attorneys, trucking company officials and insurance professionals, including risk managers and claims adjusters.

The seminar will provide an overview of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and the legal responsibility of trucking companies and motor carriers for a driver’s negligent acts and omissions. Insurance coverages, types of trucking insurance policies and recent cases of interest will also be discussed.

A segment of the program is also devoted to motor carrier accident investigation and accident reconstruction.
