Geared toward attorneys assisting Superstorm Sandy victims, this free
program includes an informational overview of state and federal relief
programs. Panelists provide an overview of assistance programs and
relief options and discuss programs set up by the American Red Cross,
FEMA, IRS, the Small Business Association, the NYS Department of Labor
and the NYS Division of Financial Services.
Segments of this program carry MCLE credit for attorneys. Panelists
cover legal considerations relative to disaster relief situations and
provide an overview of the law relative to insurance considerations and
landlord/tenant issues. Panelists will also cover client counseling
relative to disaster unemployment assistance, document loss/replacement
records, banking, consumer debt/credit Issues and family law
considerations.
