Barry Gold Memorial Health Law Student Writing Competition

Entries must discuss a health law issue under NYS law or a health law issue under federal law and its impact on NYS law or the regulatory environment in New York State.

Award Criteria: To be eligible for consideration, the author must be currently enrolled in an accredited law school in New York or a contiguous state (CT, MA, NJ or PA). The competition is open to both full and part-time JD candidates.

No paper that has been previously published in any form shall be considered. Author must also submit a brief biographical statement of no more than 100 words.

Paper must contain original work done exclusively by a single author, and may relate to research done by the author and may have been submitted to fulfill a course requirement in the author's program of study. Paper must be typed, double-spaced, on 8.5 x 11" white bond paper with one-inch margins and pages numbered. Paper must be no less than 15 pages and no more than 25 pages of text presented in essay form.

Prize Awarded: 1st Prize $1,000 and 2nd Prize $500.
