Mark J. Moretti of Rochester (Phillips Lytle LLP) has been elected
chair of the Trial Lawyers Section of the New York State Bar
Association.
Moretti received his undergraduate degree from
the University of
Rochester and
earned his law degree from State University of New York at Buffalo
School of Law.
Moretti concentrates his practice on business and tort
litigation with a focus on construction disputes, commercial contracts,
ERISA, estate disputes, banking litigation, insurance defense and
subrogation, commercial leases and other real property litigation
including real property taxation and condemnation.
A longtime member of the Association’s Trial
Lawyers Section, Moretti has served on the section’s executive
committee since 2000. He also is a member of the Association’s
Commercial and Federal Litigation Section, Real Property Section and the
Special Committee on Unlawful Practice of Law. He previously served on
the Real Property Section’s Committee on Landlord and Tenant and
the Trial Lawyers Section’s Committee on Trial
Practice.
A frequent lecturer and writer, Moretti is active in
the American Bar Association and the Monroe County Bar Association,
where he chaired the Real Property Tax Committee, Courts Committee, and
Unauthorized Practice of Law. He currently serves on the Board of
Directors of Volunteer Legal Services Project and the Bristol Harbor
Homeowners Association.
