James P. Subjack
Criminal Justice Section
James P. Subjack of Fredonia has been elected chair of the Criminal
Justice Section of the New York State Bar Association.
Subjack received his undergraduate degree from American University
and earned his law degree from the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign Law School.
Subjack is a sole practitioner concentrating on criminal defense and
civil litigation. Prior to starting his own practice, he was a partner
of Lipsitz, Green Scime & Cambria LLP. He was the district attorney
of Chautauqua County from 1993 to 2005. He previously served as the
Corporation Counsel to the City of Jamestown.
Subjack is a long-tenured member of the Criminal Justice Section and
its executive committee. Subjack is a past president of the Jamestown
Bar Association. He previously served on the executive committee of the
New York State District Attorney’s Association. He is a fellow the
American Academy of Forensics Sciences.
Subjack has received numerous awards over the years, including the
New York State Humane Association’s Toni Hanna Award for
Outstanding Prosecutor in New York State. Subjack frequently lectures on
criminal justice topics such as juvenile justice, witness examination
and prosecution.
