Vincent J. Syracuse
Commercial and Federal Litigation Section
Vincent J. Syracuse of New York (Tannenbaum Helpern Syracuse &
Hirschtritt LLP) has been elected chair of the Commercial and Federal
Litigation Section of the New York State Bar Association.
Syracuse received his undergraduate degree from Brooklyn College and
earned his law degree from Brooklyn Law School.
Syracuse is a partner of Tannenbaum Helpern Syracuse &
Hirschtritt LLP, where he founded the litigation department, which he
chairs. He represents a variety of clients in commercial litigation in
all New York State and Federal Courts on the pre-trial, trial and
appellate levels and in various alternate dispute resolution forums
including mediation and arbitration. Syracuse also is a mediator in the
Commercial Division of the New York County Supreme Court. He was a
former a law clerk to Hon. John F. Scileppi, associate judge, New
York Court of Appeals.
A member of the Commercial and Federal Litigation Section’s
Executive Committee since 1994, Syracuse is the co-chair of the
Committee on Commercial Division. He previously served as the
section’s vice-chair and treasurer. He previously chaired the
Section’s Committee on Complex Civil Litigation. He was a member
of the Committees on Business Torts and Commodities and Futures Law. He
received the section’s Attorney Professionalism Award in 2007.
Syracuse is a member of the Advisory Committee for the Commercial
Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, the American Bar
Association, the New York City Bar, and the Nassau County Bar
Association. He served as a trustee and deputy mayor of the Incorporated
Village of Munsey Park on Long Island for 12 years.
