Pro bono service by qualified lawyers can
change the lives of those unable to afford counsel and can help them
achieve justice. By expanding the definition of pro bono, the
ranks of Empire State Counsel this year, who rendered 50 hours or more
of free legal services, proudly include attorneys who volunteered their
legal services to not-for-profit, governmental or public services
organizations whose services are designed primarily to address the legal
and other basic needs of persons of limited financial
means.
