A copy of The Words We Live By, authored by Thursday evening's
speaker Linda R. Monk, an award-winning author and journalist. The
Constitution, line by line, from the Preamble, which she analyzes with
inspiration from Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Charlton
Heston, and James Madison, to each amendment, Monk offers insight, legal
expertise, surprising facts and trivia, opposing interpretations and
historical anecdotes. Valuable classroom resource.

Monkey’s Fist Knot keychain, handmade in red,
white or blue just for our conference in Port Jefferson. Also
called a sailor's knot, it was used to pass lines from ship to shore or
from one ship to another. An ingenious knot tied from one continuous
strand of rope, it was also used as a rescue lifeline for those who were
tossed overboard. The lifeline usage has made the Monkey’s
Fist a symbol of solidarity.
