Poster & Essay Contest for 11th/12th graders    

The NYSBA's Young Lawyers Section and Law Youth and Citizenship Committee, invite 11th and 12th graders from schools within the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 9th Judicial Districts (see list below) of New York State to participate in the First Annual Civics Poster & Essay Contest.The posters and essays will have a US flag/US Constitution theme. The Young Lawyers Section will select a 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place poster, and a 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place essay. Prizes: 1^st place - $300; 2^nd place - $200; 3^rd place - $100. The organizers hope the contest will serve as a platform to enhance students' understanding of U.S. government through their creative participation in the poster and/or essay portion of the contest. Students must submit their work to their schools by January 18, 2013. Non-school organizations and home school teachers should contact the Section Liaison T. Bardwell at NYSBA prior to sending submissions.
