AUTOMOBILE LIABILITY COMMITTEE

 Image

Dear Counselors:

I recently accepted an appointment to Chair the Automobile Liability Committee of the Torts, Insurance & Compensation Law section of the New York State Bar Association.    I am the managing partner at Rupp, Baase, Pfalzgraf, Cunningham & Coppola, LLC.  We have offices in Buffalo  and Rochester

My goal for the committee is to continue the efforts of the prior Chair, Ken Krajewski, in creating a resource for the members in the area of automobile accident litigation and coverage.  We encourage all of our members to submit articles for the TICL e-Newsletter and TICL Journal.  We also encourage active participation in the list-serve emails where we ask for input on matters that are being debated by the Executive Committee.  Your input and insight are both welcomed and critical.  These comments are then passed along to the Executive Committee of TICL with our recommendation.  Through the active participation by the members that of the committee, a well-reasoned law or new procedure can be properly presented and adopted.

This committee provides the members with an opportunity to be heard.  We encourage all members with an interest in shaping the way we practice to join this committee and participate in the initiatives.  Your ideas, thoughts and practical approaches are welcomed.  You have a voice and a forum to be heard.

The committee recently presented a state-wide CLE entitled “Keeping Current with Automobile Litigation – 2010 Update”  The CLE program was both well attended and well received.  We will be starting the process of planning our CLE for next year shortly.  Please contact me if you have any interest and/or ideas for next year’s program.

The 2010 TICL Annual Meeting will be held at Disney World in Orlando  Floridain October 2010.  The information is available on the home page.  This will be a great opportunity to learn more about the organization, obtain CLE, and spend some time in Disney with your family.  I encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity.

If you are interested in joining the committee or have questions about how you can become more involved, feel free to email me at cunningham@ruppbaase.com.
