CONSTRUCTION & SURETY LAW DIVISION
Welcome to the
Construction & Surety Law Division Webpage:
I am of counsel
to Polin, Prisco & Villafane in Glen Cove, Long
Island. I have the honor of assuming the
reins of the Construction & Surety Law Division from Henry H.
Melchor. NYSBA and TICL members have been particularly
indebted to Mr. Melchor as he has served as the editor of the highly
regarded and invaluable “Construction & Surety Law
Newsletter”. Thankfully, Henry will continue to serve as
editor of that publication and Publications Chair of this
Division.
As
Chairperson, it is my goal to increase our membership, promote the use
of our Division List Serve, and encourage members to become more
involved so that we may all benefit from a more diverse and expanded
collective base of experience and wisdom.
I would also
like our Division to reach out to and share insight from various
industry representatives who can give us all a richer and useful
perspective on the various issues with which we deal every
day.
All
members can be part of our List Serve which allows members to exchange
views, support each other, and engage in a state-wide dialogue on a host
of issues in this field. All you need do is join Torts Insurance and Compensation Law
Section and its Construction & Surety Law Division, and we will add
you to the list.
So that
we may all benefit from members like you, I challenge you to join us if
you have not already done so, become active, recruit friends,
colleagues, and adversaries, and contribute to the varied publications
that the association, Torts Insurance and Compensation Law Section and
its various committees publish each year. This can take the form of
articles, case summaries and reviews, or notes on matters of
interest. You can post
such an item in this field to this webpage by contacting me. I’ll forward your article to
the webpage manager.
I invite
you to drop us a note or give us a call. We welcome any suggestions you
have to make this Division more helpful to our
members.
